What data the calculation needs
Only load profiles are required. Everything else widens the range of findings and makes them more reliable. Data are accepted in the form the metering system exports them.
1. Load profiles required
| What | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Consumer meters | active energy, import (A+), with timestamps; desirable — export (A−) and reactive energy |
| Substation input (balance) meter | same period and interval as the consumers; desirable — voltage on the 0.4 kV busbar |
| Interval | 30 or 60 minutes; data are used at the interval they were recorded, without resampling |
| Period | the same for the input and the consumers; the more samples, the more confident the conclusion; if there are too few, GRID-IN reports it per substation |
| Identification | meter serial number in every row or column |
| Timestamp | state whether it marks the start or the end of the interval, and the time zone |
| Gaps | leave empty; do not replace with zeros — zero means “no consumption” |
| Units | kWh or kW, with or without the CT ratio applied — state which |
2. Metering records and register desirable
| What | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Balance groups: substation → meters | if absent, GRID-IN assembles the groups itself; if present, it verifies them |
| Consumer register: meter, address, account, CT ratio | target addresses, reconciliation of metering with the register |
| Monthly billing per account | billing analysis; reconciliation of profiles with billing |
| Meter event logs | event analysis: tampering, outages, faults |
| Coordinates or addresses of substations and consumers | map, field groups, route |
3. 0.4 kV network diagram desirable
Needed for network state and technical losses (GRIDTO) and to show targets on the diagram.
- consumer connection points, transformer, poles and nodes, unmetered street lighting;
- line sections: conductor or cable type, installation (overhead, underground), approximate length;
- meter accuracy class.
Consumer phasing, node voltages and refined line lengths are determined by GRID-IN itself. The diagram can be drawn in the GRID-IN editor on a map or uploaded as a file.
4. Formats
- Excel (xlsx), CSV and text, ZIP and 7z archives — with any number of files and folders;
- any column layout: “meters in rows” or “meters in columns”, headers in English or Russian; an unfamiliar layout only needs to be mapped by hand once;
- diagrams — GRID-IN editor file; diagrams in other formats are attached as documents and transferred to the editor;
- regular transfer — via the REST API.
Enough for a pilot: an export of consumer and input meter profiles for several substations
over one period. If available — add the register with addresses, billing, event logs and the
diagrams of these substations.
